Beautiful Hui No'eau Visual Arts center

My husband, Rick Lopes was responsible for the restoration of this historical building built in 1917 by the distinguished architect C.W. Dickey.
Rick won the mayors award in 1996 for the restoration. He specializes in old buildings on Maui.

It was the home of Harry and Ethel Baldwin. She established the Hui No'eau in 1934.

We visited recently during Christmas at the Hui. The exhibits were amazing.

It appears that the Hui needs a little work 15 years after the restoration. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed visiting this wonderful old place on Maui.
One of the girls said she felt like Zelda and F Scott Fitzgerald sitting on the steps at the Hui. You must visit and wander the art studios and the grounds. See the website for classes and exhibits. http://huinoeau.com
