Making a Mango Pie

Fruit Pies are easy to make

Photo_1

I start with my homemade pie dough...

Slice my fruit and squeeze lemon juice over to keep my color, add two TBSP. flour and about 3/4 cup of sugar tossed together.

Pile fruit high in the pie shell. If there will be a top crust, dot it with butter.

This is a crumb topping I make by mixing 1/3 c flour with 3/4 c brown sugar, then cut in 1/3 c cool butter until it's crumbly, then top the pie.
Wrap a foil collar around the edge of the pie dish to prevent burning the edges of crust and bake at 400 degrees the first 15 minutes then reduce to 375 degrees about 45 minutes or until golden brown and the fruit is bubbling. (Juicy)

Happy New Year, everybody.

See my lemon meringue pie for more details of creating pies.
