Pamela's Open Studio
You're invited to my studio in Pukalani. I'll be holding open studio Sat and Sun, February 12 and 13 from 10AM to 6PM. There is no formal schedule of events, although I'll be demonstrating throughout the weekend. We'll have some pupus and you can experience my working environment and maybe pick up some art for the studio/collector discount if you see something you love.
You can also try "Paint Like Pam" hands on experience if you're drawn to that. And, since I share my studio with my husband, you'll see his digs too and gain some insight into his process. See you there!
Aloha, Friends!Welcome to the art island. Many many wonderful art events are coming up on Maui so we thought we'd put a few of them in one place for you. Due to all the activity in the art world, we have elected to forgo the annual Valentines show. A little sad, but it just makes sense this year. Click on the links below for full (and authorized) information on some really exciting art events. Currently on display in the gallery area we have house artists: Stephanie Clifton, Peter V Fisher, Larry Lovett and Pamela Neswald, and now representing jewelery by Stephanie of Maui.If you're looking to supply your studio, take a moment to scroll down and investigate our BYOBag Sale.
Meet the artists in their working environment! This first year of an annual event where artists from all over Maui open their studios to the public runs for three weekends, each focusing on a geographical area of Maui: West/South, Central/Upcountry and Hana.
Event starts Friday evening, Feb 4th with an opening celebration at Maui Tropical Plantation and runs for three weeks. Click here to access maps and information on the studios you would like to visit.
Kudos to Carolyn Quan for an event who's time has come...
...and I'll see you at my studio in Pukalani!
Maui's most esteemed yearly art event is coming up March 6th!
Although the exhibit dates will remain unchanged, artists intending on entering the competition should be aware of this schedule change: New receiving day will be February 26th from 9AM to 5PM and new give-back day will be Monday, February 28th from 9AM to 4PM. Click here for Art Maui information.
This prestigious event occurs only once every three years and will open next on January 8th, 2012.
While it seems like a long way off at the moment, artists should remember that the entry day for Maui is October 8th of this year. Not long for a masterpiece!
Significant cash awards and recognition make this a must for any serious artist with an interest in portraiture. Follow this link for prospectus, etc or pick up entry form at Upcountry Fine Art.
We hope you've enjoyed this newsletter and look forward to seeing you soon at Maui's wonderful art events as well as at the shop.
A hui ho!
