Ulupalakua Inspires

What a beautiful day up in Ulupalakua.
We took my mom and sister to see the Ulupalakua Ranch Store and Tedeschi Winery. The celebration today included a Jazz Festival and also contemporary music in front of the store. Was really nice to have musicians up close and personal right next to our picnic tabes.
These two guys Benny Uyetake and Glenn Kakugawa were great. Here they are singing Bo Jangles.

We also viewed the glassblowing demonstration by http://www.blowyourmindproductions.com/ and browsed the gift store in the winery. My mom found a beautiful vintage like tee.

The Jazz was incredible under the tent outside the winery. What an amazing atmosphere. Lots of filming was going on. The saxophone was awesome. There was also a keyboard player and stand-up base player that were fabulous musicians. One had played with Herbie Hancock.  I will update you with all the names later.

It was a wonderful day...

Aloha everyone....

P.S. Come to a #MauiOnoTweetup at the new Kihei Ono Gelato in Kihei at Azeka I. The Grand Opening is Monday June 14th.  @Daniakatz and I are hosting the MauiOnoTweetup at 5:30-6:30 PM I'm @Jamarilyn on Twitter. Follow @daniakatz  and @onogelato

Here is the Tweetvite: Check out "#MauiTweetUp" on Jun 14th. RSVP at http://tweetvite.com/event/pvvu #MauiOnoTweetUp #twvt

We had an excellent #Maui Tweetup hosted by Dania at Star Noodle Lahaina on Thursday June 3rd, 2010.
 Yes, Dania, it was magical.
Like our friends on Oahu, we aim to promote small businesses one by one and increase the Maui Tweetups to bring visitors attention to Maui while sharing the positive experiences of meeting other entrepreneurs on Maui. It is so much fun. Our lives are changing before our eyes. Friendships are building, business is happening, food is shared and bloggers are blogging about it all. High Tech Maui is holding classes to teach everyone about Social media and the response has been tremendous. Peter Liu has been teaching business classes for bloggers, Facebook for business, Twitter for business and classes have had to be repeated because of so much interest.

Look forward to meeting many new friends on Maui, all because of Twitter and Facebook. It is an amazing tool for friendship and businesses.

Aloha,
Marilyn

By the way, those musicians were the Shiro Mori Trio. Shiro on keys, Doug White on bass, and Paul Marchetti on drums. I performed with all three of them. They are great people and wonderful mentors!!
