Hula Kahiko

Ancient Hula (Kahiko) was performed on the first night of Merrie
Monarch Festival. It is exciting and beautiful to imagine ancient time
in Hawai'i..

The Merrie Monarch Festival started in 1964 in Hilo. The Hula took off
in 1976 when they introduced the Kane "Men's" hula. Today it is a
world renowned festival.
